Poker

Usually played with poker chips, a game of Poker is a gambling game that requires a round table. The main objective is to create the best hand possible.

There are numerous variations of this game, and the rules vary according to the variant. Some games have wild cards. This is a set of cards that can take any suit, while others specify which cards can be wild.

The best hand is a straight flush. A straight flush is five cards of the same suit. The ace can either be high or low. If more than one player has a straight flush, then the higher card wins.

The kitty is a special fund used by Poker players to pay for new decks of cards. It is split equally among the players still in the game.

The ante is the “buy in” to play a round of Poker. Usually $1 or $5. The ante amount varies from game to game.

The three-card brag is a classic gentleman’s game during the American Revolution. It is still popular today.

The “show down” is when all the hands are revealed. The kitty is a special fund that belongs to all the players in the game. It is built by cutting a low-denomination chip out of the pot when there has been more than one raise. The player with the best hand wins the pot.

The highest card isn’t necessarily the winner, but it is the best. The card is a king, queen, or jack.
